Summer Reading Starting Now

Beginning Tuesday June 10, get your child's first Reading Activities sheet, with different fun ways they can choose to read.  Get 4 in a row done and bring it back to win a small prize and be entered for bigger prizes at the end of the year!   Or, choose to just keep track of your reading minutes per week instead.    Every Tuesday there will be a new activities sheet or reading log on the table in the library, and possibly a craft or game or guessing project too.    Trade in your completed sheet for a new one and get a small prize.   We hope these weekly visits will keep reading fun all summer long so your kids go back to school with NO SUMMER BRAIN DRAIN.

Also, check out our schedule of special programs and guest performers.   This year's theme is "Fizz! Boom! Read!"  to encourage kids to explore fun science projects and science-related reading, keeping them up with the Common Core standards in school.    Among the programs scheduled are a workshop on making your own air-powered rocket, Rad Zoo reptiles, and fun chemistry experiments.  There will be a Family Fun time and picnic, ice cream night, and lots of storytimes.   Please join us as much as you can!
