Genealogy Night, 6-8: Family history methods 10/03/2012
This fall the library will present a series of free workshops/discussions on family history research, sponsored by the Historical Society. Local history enthusiasts will lead the sessions, with a variety of themes:Wed. Sept 12, 6-8pm: Join area history fans in a roundtable discussion focused on family history research and various resources available to help you with this project.Wed. Sept 19, 6-8pm: Choose from different family history workstations with topics including the newly opened 1940 census records, citing sources, how to get going, cemetery records, old photos, and more.Oct 3 and 10, 6-8pm: Join Mary Ellen Brue, experienced history buff, to learn about the many different ways to learn about your family history.Wed. Oct. 17, 6-8pm: at the River Falls Area Research Center and University Archives (in the campus library). Learn about this great resource for local history. |
