Area libraries and workforce agencies have combined resources to create a comprehensive job-seekers' website that is full of helpful information.  It is acessible through the library website by clicking here on the link www.jobs.iflsweb.org.

You will find job-search tips and links to job lists, free online classes on how to brush up your job skills including typing and computers, expert advice on how to apply for unemployment or other kinds of assistance, special information about going back to school or the military, and a section devoted to people with disabilities, plus much more.   Created from a federal grant through our area's Indianhead Federated Library System, this is a great resource and we hope you will find it useful!

Another way the library works to help you find a job:  we have set up an ongoing relationship with the county Job Service experts to come regularly to the library to meet with people one-on-one. If seeing an expert in person would be better for you than searching on the computer, please stop in and meet with Nancy Laird, a long-time expert in helping people search for jobs, write resumes, practice interviewing skills, brainstorm ideas about careers, etc.

Nancy is here on the first and third Thursdays of every month, from 10:00 in the morning until 12:00pm.   No appointment is necessary, just stop in when convenient.  If these times do not work for you, she is very happy to set up an appointment at any other time.  Please call the library at 684-3813 to ask to speak with her.
